MedVet Medical & Cancer Centers for Pets is pleased to announce its expansion into Kentucky with the addition of the AA Small Animal Emergency Service (AA ER) in Lexington to its network of medical centers. MedVet will develop this established emergency practice into a full-service specialty and emergency medical center, and add a comprehensive array of specialty services for which MedVet is known nationally. The medical center has been renamed MedVet Lexington.
“We are very excited to be expanding into the Lexington community,” said MedVet President Dr. Eric Schertel. “For the past 34 years, area veterinarians and pet owners have trusted AA Small Animal Emergency Service to provide emergency and specialty care for their animals. We intend to expand the specialty services presently offered while continuing to deliver exceptional patient care and client services.”
Dr. Stephen Pinkston, AA ER’s hospital administrator, is confident the MedVet acquisition is one that will benefit the entire community. “We built this practice with a number of area veterinarians, and understand its importance to Lexington and the surrounding communities,” Dr. Pinkston said. “We have seen first-hand the caliber of patient care and client service MedVet offers. This is an organization that understands that you need to treat both ends of the leash and do so by consistently providing great customer service and exceptional medical care. I have the utmost confidence that MedVet Lexington will thrive and continue its commitment to delivering the highest quality, most compassionate specialty and emergency veterinary care in the area.”
MedVet will initially focus on ensuring an exemplary emergency and referral experience. In the coming months, MedVet Lexington will expand its specialty services to include internal medicine, surgery, dermatology, ophthalmology, and oncology. In addition, ER hours will be expanded. In addition to Lexington, MedVet operates a network of seven medical centers in Ohio, Louisiana, and Alabama, delivering the highet quality and most compassionate specialty and emergency veterinary care.
