Sami Pederson, DVM, MS, Diplomate, ACVO, is a Board-certified Veterinary Ophthalmologist at WestVet.

Dr. Pederson attended the University of Idaho in Moscow, ID where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She then earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine in Corvallis, OR. Following earning her veterinary degree, Dr. Pederson completed a rotating internship at WestVet, followed by an ophthalmology internship at BluePearl Pet Hospital in Tampa, FL. She went on to complete another ophthalmology internship at the Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in Fort Collins, CO where she then stayed and completed a residency in Comparative Ophthalmology and a Master of Science degree in Clinical Sciences.

Dr. Pederson has worked on several projects and publications, including various articles on advanced imaging of the eye and the ocular effects of radiation in wild animals from Fukushima, Japan. She enjoys the challenge of ophthalmic surgery and seeing her patients happy and comfortable at their follow-up appointments.

When not caring for patients, Dr. Pederson enjoys hiking, backpacking, climbing, biking, and yoga.
