Samantha J. Fisher, DVM, is an Emergency Medicine Veterinarian at MedVet Northern Utah, where she has been a part of the team since 2022.
Dr. Fisher attended the University of Delaware in Newark, DE where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture and Animal Science as well as a minor in Medical Diagnostics. She then earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in Basseterre, Saint Kitts and Nevis, West Indies, completing her clinical year at The University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in Columbia, MO.
Dr. Fisher is a co-author of “LC3 Immunostaining in the Inferior Olivary Nuclei of Cats with Niemann-Pick Disease Type C1 is Associated with Patterned Purkinje Cell Loss,” published in The Journal of Neuropathology and Experimental Neurology. She has a special interest in neurology and neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, emergency medicine, and anesthesia. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is the opportunity to help people and their companion pets by collaborating with the pet parents and their family veterinarian to develop the best plan of care for each Patient.
In her spare time, Dr. Fisher enjoys being active whether she is horseback riding, weightlifting, or hiking. She is also interested in the arts and enjoys painting, sculpting, and woodworking. Her favorite medium to work with is clay and she likes to make wheel-thrown pottery. Dr. Fisher is happiest when she is spending time with friends and family, including her partner (Brittany), their tripod island dog (Pirate), and their tortoiseshell calico cat (Spooky).
