Kristin Heilmeier-Santos, DVM, is an Emergency Medicine Veterinarian at MedVet Cincinnati, where she has been part of the medical team since 2022.
Dr. Heilmeier-Santos attended the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science. She then earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine in Ames, IA. Additionally, Dr. Heilmeier-Santos is Fear Free Certified®.
Prior to joining MedVet, she worked at a small animal private practice in Charlottesville, VA, as well as, a 24-hour emergency clinic in the mountains of North Carolina. Dr. Heilmeier-Santos has a special interest in all aspects of urgent and emergency veterinary medicine. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is the meaning and satisfaction she finds in helping pets and maintaining the human-animal bond. She also enjoys the continued learning aspect of practicing veterinary medicine.
In her free time, Dr. Heilmeier-Santos enjoys running marathons, riding horses, and spending time with her husband, who is also a veterinary surgeon, their dog, two cats, and two horses.
