Amanda Tarter Reed, DVM, is an Emergency Medicine Veterinarian at MedVet Lexington where she has been a part of the team since 2020.
Dr. Tarter Reed attended Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, KY where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture/Animal Science. She then earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in Auburn, AL. Following earning her veterinary degree, Dr. Tarter Reed completed an internship in rotating medicine and surgery at Veterinary Specialists of South Florida in Cooper City, FL.
Dr. Tarter Reed has a special interest in emergency medicine and surgery. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is providing families with information to help them make informed decisions regarding their pet’s health and to improve their pet’s comfort and care.
When away from the hospital, Dr. Tarter Reed enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. They live on a small farm where they have chickens, cows, goats, cats, and dogs. She also enjoys gardening and cooking.
