MedVet Rotating Internships

MedVet offers a 1-year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at several of our emergency and specialty hospitals. MedVet rotating internships allow you to gain valuable clinical experience in well-established, multispecialty hospitals while under the supervision of board-certified specialists and experienced emergency doctors. While clinical rotations and schedules vary slightly with location, most locations provide interns with an opportunity to rotate through anesthesia and analgesia, cardiology, critical care, dermatology, emergency medicine, internal medicine, neurology and neurosurgery, medical oncology, ophthalmology, radiology, and surgery. Educational opportunities include participation in journal clubs, daily clinical rounds, formal presentations and CE lectures, and the ability to interact and consult with the many MedVet specialists. Our rotating internship programs are designed to prepare you for a career in emergency medicine, primary care practice or the pursuit of residency training and specialty board certification.

Qualifications: Must be a graduate from an AVMA accredited college or have successfully completed the AVMA ECFVG or PAVE certification program prior to application. The candidate must be eligible for licensure to practice veterinary medicine in the state of the training program.

Duration: 1 year

Application: All MedVet rotating internship programs are posted on the AAVC’s Veterinary Internship & Residency Matching Program website. Please email Dr. Jon Fletcher (jon.fletcher@medvet.com) for additional information about MedVet or our training programs.
