Leilani Way, DVM, MS, Diplomate, ACVECC, is a Regional Medical Director, providing guidance and leadership to the Medical Services teams at MedVet Chicago, MedVet North Shore, MedVet Northern Utah, MedVet Salt Lake City, MedVet Vancouver, WestVet Boise, WestVet Idaho Falls, and WestVet Meridian. She has been a part of the medical team since 2023.
Dr. Way attended Westminster College where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree and Colorado State University where she earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. Following her graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Way completed a yearlong rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at VCA Alameda East Veterinary Hospital and a three-year small animal emergency and critical care residency at Colorado State University. Dr. Way also earned a Master of Science degree during her residency.
After becoming a board-certified Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care in 2012, Dr. Way returned to VCA Alameda East Veterinary Hospital as an emergency and critical care veterinarian. Before joining MedVet, Dr. Way was a Regional Medical Director at Ethos Veterinary Health. Dr. Way also earned a Master of Business Administration from Utah University. She is the author of articles published in the Journal of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care and has received an award for excellence and proficiency in emergency and critical care.
Dr. Way is experienced in all aspects of emergency and critical care veterinary medicine. She has special interests in sepsis, transfusion medicine, and blood banking. Her favorite part of practicing veterinary medicine is providing life-saving care to pets in need.
In her free time, Leilani Way enjoys spending time outdoors with her family.
