Sheryl Kepping, VMD, is an Emergency Medicine Veterinarian at WestVet Boise.

Dr. Kepping wanted to pursue veterinary medicine as a young girl growing up in northeastern Pennsylvania. She was drawn to helping animals, solving problems, and helping people and veterinary medicine was a perfect fit.

Dr. Kepping attended Cornell University in Ithaca, NY where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science. She then earned a Veterinary Medical Doctor degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. Following earning her veterinary degree, she completed a small animal rotating internship at Oradell Animal Hospital in Paramus, NJ.

Dr. Kepping’s favorite part of veterinary medicine is the satisfaction of knowing that she can use her skills and knowledge to improve the quality of life of animals and their families. Her favorite moments are watching the reactions of a family when they can take their healthy pet home.

When not caring for her patients, Dr. Kepping enjoys hiking, mountain biking, camping, downhill skiing, riding horses, whitewater rafting, and traveling. When she’s not out and about, she enjoys spending time with her cat and mischievous and lovable husky.
