Andrew Gendler, DVM, Diplomate, ACVR, is a Board-certified Veterinary Radiologist at WestVet Boise.
Dr. Gendler’s career path to veterinary medicine began while pursuing a biology and chemistry teaching degree at Montana State University in Bozeman, MT. Following earning his undergraduate degree, he attended the Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine in Pullman, WA where he earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. From 2004 to 2007, Dr. Gendler worked at WestVet as an emergency veterinarian before completing a radiology residency at the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine in Madison, WI. In 2011, he returned to WestVet to provide outpatient imaging services to primary care veterinarians throughout the region.
Dr. Gendler has published and presented research on the CT imaging of feline oral squamous cell carcinoma and CT arthrography in the canine elbow joint. Additionally, he serves as a reviewer for scholarly articles submitted to the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association (JAVMA) and Veterinary Radiology and Ultrasound (an ACVR journal). Dr. Gendler has a special interest in utilizing CT and MRI to diagnose musculoskeletal disease, neuroimaging, and diagnostic accuracy in medical imaging.
When not caring for patients, Dr. Gendler is chauffeuring his kids to and from school and other activities. He enjoys cross country and endurance mountain bike racing, road bike events, and his favorite, cyclocross events. During the winter, he and his family are busy alpine skiing at Bogus Basin.
