Alyssa M. Matos, DVM, is a Veterinary Surgery Resident at MedVet Columbus, where she joined the team in 2021.
Dr. Matos earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Animal Science from Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN followed by a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in Ithaca, NY. She then completed a rotating medicine and surgery internship at the Pittsburgh Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center (PVSEC) in Pittsburgh, PA and a specialty internship in veterinary surgery at both the Veterinary Specialty Center in Buffalo Grove, IL and the Las Vegas Veterinary Specialty Center in Las Vegas, NV.
Dr. Matos has written on the topic of tibial tuberosity avulsion fractures and platelet rich plasma for elbow medical compartment disease. She has a special interest in thoracic and hepatobiliary surgery. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is improving the quality of life of pets and their families.
In her spare time, Dr. Matos enjoys swimming, cycling, being outdoors, hiking, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
