Blaine Burkert, DVM, MS, Diplomate, ACVS-SA, is a Board-certified Veterinary Surgeon at MedVet Houston Bay Area where he has been a part of the team since 2008.
After working as a computer software engineer at the Kennedy Space Center for seven years, Dr. Burkert made the decision to pursue veterinary medicine. He attended the Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in Basseterre, Saint Kitts and Nevis, West Indies where he earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree with honors. He then completed a small animal medicine and surgery internship and a Surgery Residency at the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine in Baton Rouge, LA.
Dr. Burkert has a special interest in vertebral column disorders, cranial cruciate ligament disease, and arthritis.
In his spare time, Dr. Burkert can be found scuba diving or riding motorcycles.
