Amy Brida, DVM, Diplomate, ACVECC is a Board-certified Specialist in Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care at MedVet Norwalk where she has been a part of the team since October 2020. Dr. Brida attended the University of Delaware in Newark, DE where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science. She then attended the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine in Blacksburg, VA where she earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. She then completed a rotating medicine and surgery internship at Oradell Animal Hospital in Paramus, NJ. Following her internship, she completed a critical care residency at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University in Grafton, MA.
Dr. Brida is certified in RECOVER, the Reassessment Campaign on Veterinary Resuscitation. She has a special interest in trauma, acid/base and electrolyte derangements, acute kidney injury, sepsis, and mechanical ventilation. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is being an influence on the bond between owners and their pets, and getting to see all the different personalities of cats.
In her spare time, Dr. Brida enjoys traveling, hiking, exercising, observing and photographing wildlife, reading, and spending time with her family and pets. She has a Shih Tzu (Lucy) and a cat (Achilles).
