Director of Post-Graduate Medical Education & Clinical Studies

Dr. Jon Fletcher serves as the Director of Post-Graduate Medical Education & Clinical Studies. In this role, he works across all MedVet hospitals to oversee the growth and development of residency training programs in all specialties and the expansion of MedVet’s internship and emergency clinician mentorship programs.  These educational initiatives also support MedVet’s leading, and growing, Medical Services team of highly qualified emergency doctors, residency-trained doctors, and board-certified specialists. Additionally, Jon is responsible for developing, managing, and growing MedVet’s Clinical Studies Program. A strong collaborator, Dr. Fletcher is tasked with creating and fostering relationships with our research sponsors, providing oversight and support for our clinical trials, and identifying and securing new research opportunities that allow MedVet to continue advancing the veterinary profession and providing the highest level of care.  Both areas under his leadership are integral to our mission, Leading Specialty Healthcare for Pets.

After earning a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Louisiana State University, Dr. Fletcher continued his education by completing a rotating internship at Auburn University and a small animal internal medicine residency at LSU.  He became board certified in Small Animal Internal Medicine and was in private specialty practice for several years before returning to academia. Prior to joining MedVet, Dr. Fletcher was an Associate Professor of Small Internal Medicine and Director of the Veterinary Endocrinology Laboratory at Louisiana State University.

When not working, Dr. Fletcher loves spending time with his family which consists of his wife, four kids, a sheepadoodle, crested gecko, and fish. He also enjoys outdoor activities and attending sporting events.
