Raphael A. Malbrue, DVM, MS, Residency Trained in Laboratory Animal Medicine is an Emergency Medicine Veterinarian at MedVet Hilliard where he has been part of the team since 2018. Dr. Malbrue graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal, Poultry, and Veterinary Sciences, followed by a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine in Tuskegee, AL. After finishing veterinary school, Dr. Malbrue earned his Master of Science degree in Biomedical and Veterinary Medical Sciences, as well as completed his residency in laboratory animal medicine at Louisiana State University in Shreveport, LA. Dr. Malbrue has authored numerous publications in small and exotic animal theriogenology and is a Clinical Associate Veterinarian/Director of Large Animal Medicine and Surgery, University Laboratory Animal Resources and Assistant Professor-Clinical, Department of Veterinary Preventive Medicine at The Ohio State University.
He maintains special interest in small and exotic animal theriogenology, as well as Emergency and Critical Care for exotic companion mammals. His favorite aspect of veterinary medicine is the opportunity to care for the diversity of species on a daily basis. Dr. Malbrue also finds great joy in building relationships with patients, clients, and Referral Partners.
When not caring for his patients, Dr. Malbrue loves cooking, fishing, and jazz.
